User manual for the Ewa-Marine U-BXP100 Underwater Housing U-BXP 100 TRCA
The user manual for the Ewa-Marine U-BXP100 Underwater Housing U-BXP 100 TRCA provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Photography - Underwater Photography - Still Cameras & Housings.
The U-BXP100 Underwater Housing from Ewa-Marine is a waterproof enclosure enabling you to shoot beneath the surface with a pro DSLR, such as the Canon EOS 1D, 1Ds, 1D X, or 5D Mark III, or the Nikon D4 or D3. It will also accommodate another camera of the same or smaller size. Additionally, the housing has space for an on-camera shoe-mount flash. It is a modified version of their U-BXP housing, with a wider lens port to allow for the use of lenses with larger diameters. It has a depth rating of 164' and a corrosion-resistant clamping rail seal. The U-BXP100 includes Ewa's Tripod Connector with Mounting Plate and their Cable Exit. The tripod mount has an anodized aluminum plate with both a 1/4"-20 and a 3/8"-16 screw threads and a quick-release head. The cable exit allows you to run up to 4 cables out of the housing and still safely dive. Each cable can have a maximum diameter of 4 mm. Easy access to virtually all camera controls is provided right through the thin, flexible, double-laminated PVC body, which is clear to allow you to monitor the watertight seal and maintain a full view of the camera. The integrated, optically neutral flat glass port accommodates lenses with internal focus mechanisms only, and is especially designed for wide-angle lenses. The supplied CA-77 adapter is compatible with lenses that have 77 mm filter thread diameters, and fixes the front element of the camera's lens to the interior of the port to hold it in place. The optional CA-82 adapter enables the use of lenses with 82mm threads, and optional step-up or step-down rings can be screwed on to accommodate lenses with different thread sizes. The U-BXP100 is supplied in a handy yellow carrying case with a waterproof interior. Also provided are an initial supply of CD5 drying agent to absorb moisture/condensation and enough foam padding to take up any empty space when shooting above water. Below the surface, the water pressure will compress the housing, eliminating excess space. However, you should still keep the foam padding inside and blow additional air into the housing via the valve at the rear, to ensure that there is enough interior pressure to withstand the exterior water pressure.
