The user manual for the Ortery PhotoCapture 360 - 360 Product Photography PC360 provides
necessary instructions for the proper use of the product Lighting & Studio - Tabletop Shooting - Product Turntables.
Ortery's PhotoCapture 360 is a motorized, computer-controlled, 360° product photography turntable that functions in an automated hardware/software workflow. PhotoCapture 360 includes 11.4" and 15.7" size platforms and black and white covers for both (and larger platforms can be attached). Featuring an industrial strength build, it supports up to 25 lb and delivers smooth, precise, and fast and repeatable professional results. The included PhotoCapture software controls the entire process, from camera control to transferring the final 360° animation to your website. PhotoCapture 360 is compatible with select Canon and Nikon cameras (see full list below), and the software works with both Mac and Windows systems, although some cameras are limited to specific operating systems/versions (more below).
What are the steps of the process? Connect PhotoCapture 360 and a compatible camera to your computer via USB cables and launch the PhotoCapture software. Place your product on the turntable and preview it in real-time on your computer using the software. Then rotate the product/turntable 360°, and adjust the product's position until centered. At the same time as this 360° rotation, use the software to pre-define camera and crop settings. (Most camera settings can be adjusted in the software while viewing a real-time preview on your monitor screen.) Then select the number of pictures to take (between 4 and 360), define other animation features, and press "Start". The software, camera, and turntable work in unison to automatically capture images (in JPG or RAW format). The turntable will rotate and the camera will capture images in increments until finished. Images are immediately uploaded and saved to the computer. You are able to view each image and confirm its quality. If required, individual photos can be immediately re-taken by setting the turntable to spin back to the correct angle. The individual images can be exported (for cleaning or stitching in a 3rd-party software), sent via email, printed, annotated, edited, or immediately stitched in the PhotoCapture software to create 360° product animations in Flash or HTML5 formats. Furthermore, you can dramatically increase productivity by saving and reusing previous settings.
The PhotoCapture 360 also supports 3rd-party remote desktop access software, such as Splashtop, that mimic the UI of the desktop software on a tablet, enabling you to stand right next to the PhotoCapture 360 when you snap photos. These apps can be downloaded at the App Store and Google Play.
