This detector is a solid choice for both coin shooting and relic hunting due to its transmission frequency of 6.6 kHz and preset ground balance. The open 8" concentric search coil makes pinpointing objects easy as the center always has the highest returns. Results are displayed on dual LCD screens and are audible through either the built-in speaker or headphone output.
The control interface utilizes both push buttons and analog knobs to quickly toggle modes and fine tune sensitivity and discrimination. You can choose between an all metal mode that provides returns on all metals or one of the preset discrimination modes. You can also manually calibrate the discrimination to filter your results based on the exact conditions you are searching in. There are specific notching modes that allow you to search only for a specific type of metal artifact. Metal type and estimated depth of the object are displayed on their own LCD screens. They are also indicated by one of three tones that help differentiate metal type. The unit is powered by two 9V batteries, which are not included.
